Firmware injection is a highly critical cyberattack where malicious code is inserted directly into a device's low-level hardware control software (firmware). Because firmware executes during startup before the operating system (OS) loads, an injection allows an attacker to achieve deep, invisible, and persistent control over the hardware that typical OS-level antivirus software cannot detect.
